Sham Champagne
Take one good sized Lemon, sliced, Tartaric Acid,
1 table-spoonful; Ginger-root, bruised, 1 oz.; white Sugar 1 1/2
lb.; pour upon them 2 1/2 gals. boiling water let stand until cooled
to blood heat and add a gill of good yeast and let it stand in the
sun through the day, at night bottle, tieing the corks and in 2
days it will be fit to use. Mrs. Beecher. Be sure and not drink
over 3 or 4 bottles at, one time. |
